Climate Action Plan

Earlham Primary’s Climate Action Plan sets out practical steps to help our school reduce its environmental impact and build pupils’ understanding of how everyday choices make a difference. We will work with children, staff and families to develop habits that support cleaner air, healthier classrooms and a more sustainable future for our community.

Our plan focuses on reducing energy use, improving waste management and promoting sustainable travel. We will encourage pupils to switch off lights and equipment when not in use, support recycling in classrooms and around school, and highlight the importance of reusing resources. We will also promote walking, cycling and using public transport where possible, and we will continue to consider ways to make school journeys safer and more convenient for families.

To support learning, we will integrate climate and sustainability topics across the curriculum and provide age-appropriate activities that help children understand climate change and take positive action. Parents can help by discussing simple actions at home, such as saving energy, reducing food waste and choosing reusable items. Together, we can strengthen the message that climate action is something everyone can do—starting now, with our children.
